AAMINAH & MUHAMED

What an experience it was to capture the wedding of Aaminah & Muhamed. It all took place in August of 2021, at the breathtaking Woodstock Wedding & Events in York. This barn wedding was definitely one to remember.

Aaminah met us at her friend’s wedding we covered earlier that year in May. She really got to see us work and was very impressed with the gallery we delivered to her friend. You could say this sealed the deal, she was sold! Aaminah reached out to us earlier on in her preparations for her own wedding, and secured a booking with us immediately.

Aaminah booked one photographer for her 7-hour event, which ran smoothly. The guests were busy all day soaking in the sunny sunshine of August, out in the fields and barn. Woodstock had adult sized wooden board games out for guests to enjoy which was a great touch.

The catering was nothing short of delicious! Alongside the sit down meal, an outdoor section was reserved for caterers to serve freshly prepared canapés. We’re talking about the ‘I can’t stop eating them’ canapés here. Falafel & hummus trays, fruit & nuts and an assortment of pastry platters. Oh, and the mocktails, so many mocktails!

It was a pleasure meeting both sides of the couple’s families, getting to know them and capture their story was touching. They all had so much love for the newly married couple. This was very evident towards the end of the wedding, when the Rukhsati (bridal exit ceremony) begins. In South Asian culture, these last few moments are the most precious for many brides. They hug, hold dear and say goodbye to their loved ones as they embark on their new journey. Capturing these moments really get your goosebumps going, that lump in your throat is definitely there, but you remind yourself, ‘keep professional, don’t get soft on me now!’
